Gaining Experience in Communications, Marketing, and Media 

Build real-world experience through a variety of hands-on learning opportunities that complement classroom learning. 

Internships & Micro-Internships 
Internships allow you to apply in-classroom learning in professional settings while building skills, confidence, and career clarity. BSU students have gained experience with television and radio stations, nonprofits, media outlets, government offices, and more. You can also participate in paid micro-internships through Parker Dewey, completing short-term, professional projects without a long-term commitment.  

Clubs and Organizations 
Communication, marketing, and media focused clubs give you opportunities to build portfolios, collaborate with peers, and connect with professionals. Student-run clubs & organizations offer hands-on leadership, creative, and professional development experiences. Students can hold leadership positions within these organizations such as president, vice president, event planner, or social media coordinator allowing you to gain valuable management, communication, and additional skills to strengthen your resume. 

Study Abroad 
Students are encouraged to expand their global perspective through short-term travel courses and semester or year long study abroad programs
