Forage is a free, self-paced online platform that gives you the opportunity to experience what it’s like to work at some of the world’s leading companies—including Citi, KPMG, EY, JPMorgan Chase, Bloomberg, and many more.
Through interactive virtual job simulations, you’ll complete projects and solve real-world challenges modeled after the work interns and entry-level professionals do every day. While these experiences are not formal work experience, they provide a credible and practical way to develop in-demand skills, explore potential career paths, and demonstrate initiative and career readiness to employers.
Most simulations take just 2–8 hours to complete and can be finished on your own schedule. Along the way, you’ll strengthen valuable technical, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills while gaining insight into careers in business, consulting, finance, accounting, data analytics, management, and other high-growth fields.

Access Forage to take part in these virtual projects. Here is the step-by-step guide for students.
- Visit the Forage website and create a free account using your BSU email address.
- Complete your profile with your academic major(s), career interests, and graduation timeline.
- Browse available simulations by company, industry, or career interest. Consider choosing simulations aligned with roles you are actively exploring or your career interests such as Business, Marketing, Technology, Law, Education.
Before you begin, review the simulation overview, learning outcomes, and estimated completion time to find an experience that aligns with your interests and goals.
- Choose simulations that match your academic and career interests. Focus on opportunities related to your major or career field, such as business administration, accounting, finance, economics, data analytics, management, and other areas of interest.
- Look for employer-sponsored experiences. Many organizations that partner with Forage actively recruit students and value candidates who have completed their virtual job simulations.
- Complete the simulation on your own schedule. Progress through each module at a pace that works for you.
- Tackle authentic, real-world projects. Complete tasks modeled after the work professionals perform in internships and entry-level roles.
- Learn as you go. Take advantage of the guidance, sample solutions, and feedback provided throughout the simulation to strengthen your skills and understanding.
- Upon completion, download your Forage certificate.
- Save the certificate URL and verification code provided.
- Record the official simulation name (Company + Simulation Title).
Add Forage to Your Resume
List Forage under one of these sections – Additional Experience or Projects:
- Include the simulation name, company, and completion date.
- Add 2–3 bullet points describing what you did and learned.
