Career Resources for Veterans

The Career Services & Internship Program Office offers support to BSU students who are currently in the military as well as veterans, including assistance with career goals, choosing a major, and support with the transition from student to non-military or military professional. We have pulled together select resources and websites that can be helpful for the career development and job search process.  In addition, be sure to utilize the resources of the Military and Veteran Student Services here at BSU.  If you have questions or concerns about the job search process, we encourage you to schedule an appointment with one of our career advisors who will be happy to meet with you.

Careers in the Military provides thousands of career options within the military.

My Next Move for Veterans provides career resources for veterans including O*Net OnLine’s Military Crosswalk Search that provides descriptions of military jobs by title and military occupation code.​​​​​​​

Military Skills Translator matches military experience to civilian jobs.

CareerOneStop Veteran and Military Transition Center is a one-stop website for employment, training, and financial help after military service.

Veterans’ Employment and Career Transition Advisor provides important employment information and resources in your state, including contact information for your local Director for Veterans’ Employment and Training, as well as state government jobs.

The National Resource Directory is a database of validated resources that supports recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration for service members, veterans, family members, and caregivers.

American Corporate Partners (ACP) offers a free mentoring program that connects post-9/11 veterans, active-duty spouses, and eligible military spouses (Protégés) with corporate professionals (Mentors). ACP assists veterans and eligible spouses on their path towards fulfilling, long-term careers, whether the veteran is job searching or newly employed.

The US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Pathways Internship Program allows students to join the VA in career positions that emphasize long term development and training.
