Career Resources for LGBTQIA+ Students

LGBTQIA+ students may have unique career planning and job search questions and considerations.  The Career Services & Internship Program Office has identified select resources and websites that you may find helpful in your career planning process and job search.  Our career advisors are all Safe Zone allies and are happy to meet with you, providing a safe space to support your career development and job search success. National LGBT Chamber of Commerce is the largest advocacy organization dedicated to expanding economic opportunities and advancements for LGBTQ people, and the exclusive certifying body for LGBTQ-owned businesses.

The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) provides individuals assistance if they have been discriminated against.

Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index is the national benchmarking tool on corporate policies, practices, and benefits pertinent to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer employees.

LinkedIn is a great networking tool. Join networking groups that are in the LGBTQ+ Community such as Out & Equal’s LGBTQ+ CareerLink Network. Just search LGBTQ in groups.

LGBTQ Professional and Student Associations is a list, produced by The Human Rights (HRC), of LGBTQ+ Professional and Student Associations, broken down by industry.

Idealist.org is a top nonprofit/human services job search site that has a dedicated LGBTQ issue area filter.

GLBTQ Legal Advocates & Defenders (GLAD) specifies what legal protections one has in the state of Massachusetts.

America’s Best Employers For Diversity 2023 according to Forbes.
