Meet Chris Kelly, Bridgewater State University Class of 2026 and Account Executive at A&A Metro Transportation. We visited Chris at work to learn more about his experience at BSU and the path that led him to his career after graduation.

As an undergraduate student, Chris was not entirely sure what career he wanted to pursue. Rather than limiting himself to one path, he immersed himself in campus life. He joined student organizations, including Bridgewater Collegiate Investors, enrolled in a variety of courses that piqued his interest, and gained experience through jobs both on and off campus, including his role as a student employee in Alumni Development. Through these experiences, Chris developed valuable soft skills that helped him build relationships, explore opportunities, and confidently engage in professional conversations.
During his junior year, Chris switched his major from Marketing to Business Management. Through his involvement with Bridgewater Collegiate Investors, he connected with a BSU alumnus who invited him to attend a BSU Foundation meeting. There, he met a mutual connection who encouraged him to apply for an internship opportunity with A&A Metro Transportation.
Although he had no previous experience in the transportation industry, Chris focused on learning as much as possible. He asked questions, sought guidance from colleagues, and built technical knowledge on top of the skills he had already developed through his education and involvement on campus.
“Soft skills are super important. You can always learn the technical abilities required to do a job. The earlier you build curiosity and a desire to grow and learn in your career, the better.”
Chris’s dedication during his internship paid off. Based on his strong performance, A&A Metro offered him a full-time position as an Account Executive. When reflecting on how BSU prepared him for his career, Chris explained that BSU provided countless opportunities to connect with professors, peers, and student organizations. Those experiences helped him build a foundation of knowledge and confidence that he continues to draw upon when learning new skills, meeting new people, and navigating challenges in his professional life.
His biggest piece of advice for current students? “Get involved! BSU makes it super accessible to be a part of the machine that makes it run.”
