Gerald Tang
Executive Director

Dr. Gerald Tang serves as the inaugural Executive Director for the Career Services and Internships Office as he continues to amplify the BSU Works effort.
With extensive experience in higher education, Gerald brings together rich experiences working at various institutions, including St. Francis College, Baruch College/CUNY, Columbia University, Wentworth Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University, La Roche University, and Susquehanna University. Most recently, Gerald was the inaugural Assistant Dean for Career Integration at St. Francis College in Brooklyn, NY. During his tenure, he helped reimagine career services operations and provide a strategic vision to develop forward-thinking career development practices.
Gerald received his doctoral degree from Maryville University of St. Louis, his master’s degree from the Indiana University of Pennsylvania, and his bachelor’s degree from Binghamton University/SUNY. His research interests include Asian American college presidency, international students’ career development, transfer student career success, DEIB issues, and technology integration in career services.

Laurent Troland
Associate Director, Operations and Data Management
He/Him/His
Laurent Troland is the Associate Director of Operations and Data Management. He oversees office operations, technology resource integration, data management, and the First Destination Survey. In his 18+ years of experience at BSU, he has held roles as a career counselor, recruitment coordinator, and, most recently, Associate Director of Employer Services. For the latter, he manages campus career fairs and networking events, and he engages with employers and BSU alumni looking to hire BSU candidates. He has chaired several committees and served on the board of directors of the Eastern Association of Colleges and Employers. Laurent holds a master’s degree in college counseling from the University of Delaware and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut.

Katie Vagen
Associate Director of Internships & Career Development

Katie Vagen is Associate Director of Internships and Career Development. She’s been at BSU since 2009 and currently serves as the main contact for students, faculty, and employers involved in the internship process while also helping to strategize career development and advising initiatives for the office. Her favorite part of the job is advising students and alumni because each person who walks into her office has different interests, skills, and goals–this keeps things interesting! Katie’s professional involvement includes volunteering with college access organizations such as Summer Search and Bottom Line. Katie has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Connecticut and a master’s degree in college student development and counseling from Northeastern University.

Carol Crosby
Associate Director, Life Design @BSU
She/Her/Hers
As Associate Director of Life Design @BSU, Carol is collaborating with institutional constituents to integrate life design into the campus community. This new university initiative is helping students think early, often, and creatively about college engagement as well as their future career and life.
Carol has worked in higher education for 25+ years, including stints at Brandeis University, University of Connecticut, and Wesleyan University. She has received a Fulbright to visit higher education institutions in Germany and share career services best practices; accepted a university grant to participate in HERS Institute at Wellesley College; and enhanced her leadership skills at National Association of Colleges and Employers’ Management Leadership Institute. She is certified in Life Design, MBTI, and Strong. Her educational background includes an associate’s degree in liberal arts from Cape Cod Community College, a bachelor’s degree in English literature from Wheaton College, and a master’s degree in higher education administration from University of Rhode Island.
She has built strong relationships with regional and international internship programs committed to diversity and equity: MGH Aspire internship program for neurodiverse students, Virtual Internships, and Hack.Diversity. Her work helping students build and enhance professional competencies has been presented at NACE and EACE, and she is currently piloting a program, focused on building competencies integrated with the life design methodology for campus-based student employees. The Massachusetts Women in Public Higher Education, the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind, and BSU’s Minnock Center for International Engagement have presented Carol with recognition awards for her work with students.

Tracey Gray
Associate Director, Employer Engagement and Outreach

Tracey Gray is the Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Outreach. During her 20+ years working in the office, she has gained event management and employer relations experience by coordinating and implementing career fairs, career panels, on-campus interviews, networking events, and practice interview programs. Tracey finds the most rewarding part of her job to be advising undergraduate, graduate, and alumni populations in the areas of resume and cover letter writing, internship and job search strategies, effective interviewing, career exploration, choosing a major, preparing for graduate school, and effective networking through LinkedIn. Tracey received her master’s of education in counseling from BSU.

Jill Satamraju
Assistant Director of Internships & Career Development
Jill Satamraju currently serves as the Assistant Director of Internships and Career Development. Prior to taking on this role, Jill served as a career advisor and has experience working for private companies, non-profits, and government agencies. She has a background in Human Resources, which allows her to provide an “employer’s perspective” when speaking with students during career advising sessions. Her favorite type of career appointment is helping students with their job search.

David Kelly Truong
Assistant Director, Employer Engagement and Outreach

David Kelly Truong is the Assistant Director of Employer Engagement & Outreach. With over a decade of experience across corporate hospitality, healthcare, and higher education, he brings a strong foundation in cultivating meaningful stakeholder relationships, managing research operations, and supporting student success. Previously, David Kelly worked in career services at Bentley University, where one of his greatest professional joys was serving as a bridge between employers and students. He is passionate about creating transformational experiences that empower students and strengthen employer partnerships. David Kelly holds a bachelor’s degree in hospitality management from the University of New Hampshire.

Katie Muldoon
Marketing and Program Coordinator
She/Hers/Her
Katie Muldoon is the Marketing and Program Coordinator for the Career Services and Internships Office. She produces and manages content for the office’s social media accounts, publicizes career-related events around campus, creates promotional materials, and mentors a team of student marketing interns. She has been instrumental in bringing Dress for Success events to the BSU campus, and she oversees the Bear Essentials professional clothing closet for students. She is passionate about equity, access, and belonging in career services, and she strives to empower students to confidently navigate their career paths and achieve their life and career goals. An alumna of Bridgewater State University, Katie holds a master’s degree in higher education administration educational leadership and a bachelor’s degree in public relations.

Samuel Arruda
Career & Life Design Advisor
Samuel Arruda is a Career & Life Design Advisor in the Career Services & Internships Office. He holds degrees in psychology and education from UMass Amherst, where he also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant. With a background in student success and a Massachusetts K–12 School Counseling License, Samuel brings experience in counseling, career readiness, and professional development. He supports students through mock interviews, resume and cover letter building, job searches, and college applications, all within an inclusive and student-centered approach.

Cathy Lauinger
Events and Operations Coordinator

Cathy Lauinger is the Events & Operations Coordinator. She assists with operations and, most importantly, manages logistics for the many fairs, workshops, and events offered throughout the year. She enjoys working with the “small” details and creating a comfortable, welcoming environment.
Cathy holds a master’s in education for higher education from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and a bachelor’s in philosophy and ethics and value studies from Carroll College in Helena, MT. She is a proud first-generation college graduate and member of Gamma Phi Beta Sorority.
Nicole Precourt
Career Advisor
Nicole is a part-time Career Advisor for the Career Services & Internships Office. She has an extensive background in education, primarily higher education, over the last 20 years. She has worked in admissions, academic advising, career advising, and as a faculty member. She also runs her own career counseling private practice. She has also worked at Massasoit Community College and Dean College.
Nicole has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in hospitality management and a master’s degree from Troy University in management with a concentration in human resources management. She is also a Global Career Development Facilitator and a Certified Career Services Practitioner.

Heather Connell
Career & Life Design Advisor
Heather is a part-time Career & Life Design Advisor for the Career Services & Internships Office. With over a decade of experience in higher education, including admission and career development, she is passionate about helping students to tap into transformative experiences, resources, networks, and professional opportunities. Her approach is informed by both her undergraduate study in English (she loves helping students craft high quality documentation) and her graduate work in counseling, with a commitment to providing holistic, personalized, and empowering advising to every student. Her degrees are held from BSU (M.Ed) and Gordon College (BA). She is also MBTI certified, and has served at both public and private institutions including UMass Dartmouth and Stonehill College.
As a lifelong resident of southeastern Massachusetts, Heather is inspired by the wisdom of the original indigenous peoples of the region and strives to incorporate and promote diverse perspectives and ways of thinking about career into her work. She is currently exploring and imagining educational paradigms that shift away from eurocentrism and toward the expanse of communal, ecological, and spiritual kinship and reciprocity.

Denise Diliddo
Executive Assistant
Denise Diliddo is the Executive Assistant and the former Office Manager for the Career Services and Internships Office. She has been at BSU since 1997, originally in a part-time position, subsequently transitioning to a full-time position in the fall of 2002 and now serving as the Executive Assistant for the Executive Director. Denise is responsible for the general day-to-day operation of the front office, the departmental websites, and the office budget.
Lynne Augenti
Administrative Assistant
Lynne Augenti is the Administrative Assistant for the Career Services and Internships Office. She has been at BSU since 2006. Lynne works with Handshake approving employers, employment opportunities, and internships. She also target markets internship opportunities to students, schedules appointments, and serves as a back-up for the front office. Lynne earned a bachelor of science degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.
Cheryl Bezanson
Clerical Assistant
Cheryl Bezanson is the Clerical Assistant for the Career Services and Internships Office. She’s been at BSU since 2017 and is the first face the students see when they enter the office. In addition to greeting students and scheduling appointments, Cheryl works directly with our platform Handshake posting and approving employment opportunities and guiding students and employers to navigate the platform. She enjoys interacting with the students, collaborating with her coworkers, and lending a hand when needed.
Janete Monteiro
Career Assistant
Janete is a proud first-generation, non-traditional Marketing graduate with a minor in Integrated Communications who now carries her student experience forward as a newly minted alumnus. During her time at Bridgewater State University, she built a strong foundation through campus roles centered on service, communication, and community impact. As she moves forward, Janete is driven to use strategic communication and storytelling to build credibility, spark engagement, and amplify mission-driven work. She believes her journey is proof that growth does not follow one timeline, and that meaningful work happens when purpose and community come first.
Joshua Richards
Graduate Assistant
Josh Richards is the Graduate Assistant in the Career Services and Internships Office at Bridgewater State University (BSU), where he is a second-year student pursuing a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. He brings valuable experience as a counselor in addiction treatment as well as his previous work in business development and management within the nonprofit sector. In his role as a Graduate Assistant, Josh works with students to finetune their resumes and cover letters, explore the internship and career opportunities offered at BSU, and works with the office’s Career Peer Advisors to enhance program access and outcomes for students. Josh is dedicated to enhancing student preparedness for the opportunities afforded by higher education and is committed to supporting students in identifying and achieving their professional goals during their time at Bridgewater State University.

Alyvia Nater
Career Peer Advisor
Alyvia Nater is a senior at BSU majoring in Psychology with a minor in Social Welfare. She serves as a Career Peer Advisor in the Career Services & Internships Office, where she offers personalized advising sessions to help students enhance their resumes and cover letters. Alyvia also contributes career-focused blog content for the university website and actively represents Career Services & Internships at campus-wide events and programs.
In addition to her current role, Alyvia has been a Resident Assistant for four years and an Orientation Leader for two summers. She also works with the university’s Alcohol & Drug Program. Alyvia is passionate about connecting with students and enjoys collaborating with colleagues across the office.
Rylee Andrews
Marketing Assistant
As a Junior majoring in Public Relations and with a background in film and social media management, Rylee possesses a keen eye for visual storytelling and understands the intricacies of engaging online audiences. Her experiences as a reporter for her high school have honed her communication skills, allowing her to craft compelling narratives and analyze market trends effectively. Outside of her academic pursuits, Rylee is a dedicated Applebee’s team member, serving as a waitress and bartender. In her spare time, Rylee is a devoted dog parent to her beloved bulldog; she finds solace and joy in spending time with her furry companion. Whether she’s brainstorming marketing strategies, serving customers with a smile, or enjoying quality time with her pet, Rylee approaches each endeavor with enthusiasm and a commitment to excellence.

Emma Leahy
Emma is a junior at Bridgewater State University, majoring in Marketing with a minor in Integrated Communication. As a Marketing Assistant, she brings a balance of strategy and analysis to every project she works on. She has collaborated with local musicians to expand their audiences and strengthen their outreach, using data-driven insights to guide creative decisions. Outside of work and school, Emma enjoys playing tennis and working on her needlepoint projects, which allow her to focus on detail and unwind. She enjoys finding new ways to learn and grow, both in her marketing work and personal interests.
Hugh Hart
Hugh Hart is a sophomore at Bridgewater State University majoring in Clinical Psychology. He brings energy and creativity to the Career Services & Internship Office, where he produces social media content and helps promote career fairs, internship opportunities, workshops, and other professional development events. As a member of Sigma Chi fraternity, Hugh values teamwork, leadership, and service, which he channels into making career resources more accessible and engaging for all BSU students.
