Literations Event Photographer – Annual Fundraising Event (Lighting the Spark)

Overview:
We’re looking for a skilled and enthusiastic photographer to capture moments from our annual fundraising event, Lighting the Spark, at More Than Words in Boston. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to build their portfolio while supporting a meaningful cause. The photographer will be responsible for taking professional, high-quality photos during the event, focusing on key moments and people.
Key Responsibilities:
- Arrive by 5:00pm to take headshots of staff and a group photo.
- Capture candid and posed shots of donors, stakeholders, and the Executive Director.
- Follow a provided shot list to ensure key individuals and moments are captured.
- Take photos during the 30-minute program, highlighting speakers, audience engagement, and key moments.
- Work closely with an assigned staff person who will assist in coordinating photos of particular individuals.
- Ensure photos are well-lit and framed, especially in indoor, evening lighting conditions.
Requirements:
- Experience with event photography, preferably in similar settings.
- Comfortable working in low light conditions (indoor evening lighting).
- Ability to take direction and work efficiently with event staff.
- Must provide own equipment (camera, lenses, etc.).
- Great attention to detail and ability to capture a variety of moments.
- Friendly, professional, and adaptable demeanor.
Usage:
- Photos will be used to thank donors and stakeholders following the event
- Photos will be used to highlight event success on social media
Compensation:
- $400 for being the event photographer for 2 ½ hours, as well as providing photos to Literations by EOD on Friday 5/9.
