At Bridgewater State University, first-generation and/or low-income (FGLI) students have access to dedicated support through the Career Services & Internships office, including career advising, resume and cover letter support, interview preparation, internship and job search strategy, opportunities to connect with employers, and more. CareerSpring is an additional resource designed to supplement that support by providing FGLI students with a broader network of professionals, career tools, and opportunities tailored to their unique experiences.
CareerSpring empowers first-generation and/or low-income (FGLI) students and graduates with career information and skills, professional networks, and employment opportunities through a free platform and a community of volunteers and allies who are committed to helping students succeed.
Through CareerSpring, FGLI students at BSU can:
- Explore career pathways and access information to better understand potential opportunities.
- Build career skills such as resume development, interviewing, networking, and workplace preparation.
- Connect with professionals and mentors who can provide guidance, encouragement, and career insights through their Advisor Network.
- Access internship and job opportunities through their Employer Partner Network, a diverse network of allies that value FGLI talent and provide high-quality, meaningful work.
CareerSpring does not replace the personalized support students receive from BSU Career Services. It expands the resources available to help FGLI students build confidence, strengthen their career readiness, and develop the professional connections that can help them achieve their goals.
