New Year’s Resolutions!

As we transition from 2025 to 2026, you may have already begun to list some New Year’s Resolutions for yourself. Maybe you want to pick up that book you’ve been meaning to read, make a new workout schedule, learn how to bake, or pick up a new hobby. Whatever your own personal goals may be for the upcoming year, don’t forget to consider adding in some professional and career-related ones!

A new year at BSU means a new year of opportunity to continue to grow, learn, and prosper. Goal setting is a great practice to incorporate into your life, and what better time to make some professional goals than to do so for the new year! Here’s a list of some potential goals you could set for yourself to aid in your brainstorming:

  1. Attend your first Career Fair
  1. Start applying for your first internship
  1. Create or update your Resume
  1. Make a LinkedIn profile and start networking
  1. Get your own professional headshot taken
  1. Practice and enhance your interview skills
  1. Apply for that job, or graduate program you’ve been thinking about
  1. Pick out some professional attire from Bear Essentials

Whether you’re trying something new, stepping out of your comfort zone, or working to enhance your skills, remember to set obtainable goals/resolutions for yourself. Completing your goals should always be a step-by-step process. It’s a lot easier to go up a flight of stairs one step at a time versus trying to jump all the way to the top; that same process applies to you!

The Career Services & Internships Office is available Mon-Fri 9:00am-5:00pm to assist you with all your professional and career-related goals. Get a head start on checking some resolutions off your list by scheduling an appointment to meet with us!
